This will be my frist time installing concrete,should i put anything in here other than what you see,befor droping in concrete?

I had this concrete installed about 6 months ago, as you can see in the photo, its drying in dark and light patches. I ask why is this? Concrete guy had no explanation, he said some batches of concrete are like that.
