Oh my gosh. One of my foremothers had one of these machines, and I think they are a thing of beauty (although I'll bet a lot of elder seamstresses would slap me for that.) I don't know what ever became of the one that my {grandma/great aunt?} had. As you may or may not know, this was known as a treadle sewing machine.
