definitely a bass. Has the general structure of a bass, and if the upper and lower jaw meet that far past the eyes, it's most likely a largemouth. The lack of vertical striping means it might be a bass hyrbid, somewhere between largemouth, smallmouth, and striped. But, definitely a bass.

that's called the sister-in-law fish! you can tell by it's mouth that refuses to close even after you kill it. I believe this one is from the species called Fran Neimeyer. It has buggy eyes, a lower jaw overbite, and don't forget the mouth that never closes. the best way to cook this type of creature is to boil it in holy water and when it seems to have finally died, throw it in a fire with a cage around it because this type fish will not give up until it has sucked the life out of you and made you give up trying to kill what was born in hell and can not die!!! -------------------------------------------

It's a bass. You should know your fish before you kill them. It could be out of season.
