Description:

These bushes are in my backyard in Denver, Colorado. I've been here two years, and this was the first year the berries have ripened. The other year, a hailstorm knocked off most of the flowers. The flowers grew in a cluster, like grapes almost and were white and had a sweet fragrance. These berries are only about a half inch in diameter, have a deep red skin and light green flesh, like grapes and a big seed. The leaves are about 3 inches long, slightly serrated edges, and don't grow in pairs. I've seen birds and squirrels eating them. Anyone know what they are?

thank you both for your help, the berries haven't killed my dog yet, so i assumed they must not be poisonous. maybe i'll try one myself.
