Description:

i got a contractor working on my home here. He's putting on tyvek before the sighting but it seems loose and soppily put on. What do you think?

i've never seen it that loose before. its your house and you are the one paying the contractor...ask him.

It wouldn't hurt to have a few more fasteners (looks like staples) in it. I would also ask the contractor to put duct tape on the seams as well to form a better barrier.

Looks unprofessional, definitely more fasteners needed. Tyvek makes a tape for all loose ends that should be put on to keep out drafts and also little critters. Where I live its County code to have all that put on.

It is sloppy, but I doubt that matters. The siding will hold it tight. Question is, why doesn't your contractor know how to use a stapler? I suggest spending an entire day watching him with binoculars. A paranoid contractor is a good contractor.

This is very sloppy tyvek.I have been in Construction for 25 years,One thing that is very important to a job is the preperation. especially when doing exterior work.That Tyvek needs to be tightened up.Once again an ounce of prevention now will prevent problems and costs down the road.
