viceDescription:i bought this vice for tying flies at a garage sale, but i would likie to know what it was originally used for. It says magnetic vice on the bottom and looks like it may have ran on a track. Comments:

This is a machinist dial indicator stand.If you turn the switch on the base, it sticks to metal and provides a stable platform for a dial indicator to check the concentricity,flatness,etc. of machined parts.The various shafts and joints ,once assembled,provide different angles and adjustments.
