looks like a spider whose 3 other legs were eaten by something ...or removed by cruel photographer

We have these on Long Island. We call it a Daddy Long Legs. What it's real name is I have no idea. It just happens to have a leg missing for what ever reason. It's kind of common to see them with missing legs...could have gotten caught in a web and just pulled itself free....whatever.

Meade and Brizer are correct, it is a Daddy Long Legs, also known as a Harvest Spider - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvest_spider . Recalling from my youth their legs were fragile.
