Whats the difference in colored wire?

Is one better then the other? or is it to tell different wires?

yes the colors are just for identifying the different colors. They are both Cad5

One of them might be a crossover cable though. It's impossible to tell without looking at the labels or the words on the wire itself. And that's CAT 5 not Cad 5 :)

Usually they're just so you can say "the red one goes to the modem" or "the blue connects the printer to my router" or whatever. Cat 5 cabling comes in all sorts of colors. If it were a crossover cable, it would say so on the printing on the cable itself.

The real difference that no one here is telling you about is the cost. The blue one is less expensive than the red one. Red is always more due to the dying chemicals needed to make red cables. Oh yeah, would yo be interested in buying some purple wire????
